I didn't know it was this bad for him, actually. It's not like--he never talked to me about what things were like for him as a kid. It kinda seems like he didn't GET to be a kid. He's really been with the government that long??

He had a crap childhood. He's fourteen now, which means the first time he killed someone was six years ago when he was hiding on a marine ship to get away from the hellhole of a town he lived in with his mother. If I remember right, he started with the government not long after. So no, he never got to be a kid. I know exactly how much it's pissing him off that I'm calling him one.

Does George-san need to be protected from stuff like that?

Yeaaah, that's one of the problems. Plus he probably considers fun to be "weak" or something, and he doesn't trust any of us at ALL right now, so I don't think he'd risk looking vulnerable even if he WANTED to just play around.
