I'll be honest: I did use meaningless words to lure people into sleeping with me when I was younger. The issue is in that I would have vastly preferred not to, but explaining to someone that the reason you are having a conversation is that you both want to have sex with each other, and the fact that societal expectation demands small talk, flirting, and tokens of affection in the form of liquor is a dull and pointless obstacle in the way of a common objective that has already been established, and that I have a very comfortable bed if that entices them to forego telling me about their cousin's wedding is more likely to get me doused in cosmopolitan than laid. Perhaps if people were more willing to admit to their desires up front, other people wouldn't have to lie that way.
We were often assigned to deal with criminal organizations of that ilk, yes.
Actually, it's my opinion that it accentuates the evil smirk. I happen to like it just because I do. It's my face; I don't need any other reasons.
That made me laugh. ^_^ I'm not going to pretend that would have cut the chase because I'm just that not that easy. But then, small talk, flirting, and drinks wouldn't have helped you either. At least I would have appreciated the upfront nature of it. Been more amused that you were certain I'd want to sleep with you as much as vice versa though.
Tch. It's not just worthless talk that I find irksome. And... if I tell you the other reason you'll probably just laugh.
It makes sense. They hurt governments business and governments being the bigger business ensure the competition is eliminated.
It doesn't but you're allowed to think whatever you want. It is your face and I'm not the one who has to look at it on a regular basis. Just remember, you DID ask. I like Jyabura's fu manchu. It has the right look of making him look a little exotic, it's unique, it's got a small history, and it's very fun to play with.
I wouldn't have used that on you. People I know for a fact wanted to sleep with me, though, yes. I did enjoy more difficult prey on occasion as well.
Oh? Try me.
Mm. It's true.
It doesn't according to you. You're just one person, and not one with a normal sense of aesthetics. How exactly does the mutt's mustache have a history, may I inquire?
Because you know it wouldn't have worked or you wouldn't have been interested. Oh yes, I'm sure many were. I meant more that had any man been that simply arrogant with me I'd have simply been amused. Not offended necessarily but definitely amused. Besides... you're good at reading most people on a basic reactionary level I assume? Than you should know, people don't like to be reminded when they're easy to read. I've gotten more people mad at me for understanding them better than they do themselves than any other "annoying" trait of mine. And truth hurts.
Hn. Fine. Sex for most people is about some form of intimacy. Guys stereotypically prefer physically, women prefer emotionally, whatever. I just don't like to get that close to people. And if I do... I don't want it to be nothing in the end. I don't want one night, I don't want a lifetime, but I want it to be something. I want it to be worth a lot. And valuable. And I don't want it to amount to just the same thing as practically everyone else because I'm not the same.
And you enjoyed the justice of it?
Mm-hm. Ah I should have said a story behind it. Sax Rohmer etc. There was a famous Chinese general who sported the look and goatee but I can't remember his name now. Damn that's going to bother me.
Wouldn't you like to know. But yes, I am good at reading reactions, and I understand that people don't like that, but I don't see what's wrong with people up front about what you want.
You want it to be special. I...hmm. I supposed I can't say that I don't understand that, but I certainly didn't used to. I was mystified for a long time as to why so many people insisted upon reading so much into a purely physical act.
I did.
Oh, I know there's a history behind the specific style, but that doesn't mean it's not ugly.
I would like to, yes. The curiosity is killing me. And hell if I know. I prefer it when people are upfront. I rarely accept that they are actually for a change doing so when it happens, but I still greatly prefer it. I even prefer the pretending to be upfront. Better to deal with.
No see I almost said it's not that I want it to be special because I knew you'd sy that. It's... not that I want it to be special. I just don't want to be the same as them. The act itself is fine in whatever way but I'm not going to be just another easy conquest to someone like Lupin. I'm not like that. Not better necessarily, just different and I don't want to be treated the same as them.
You can still do that without the government you know. Probably easier now if anything.
Look it's pretty simple. Jyabura's frames his grin. It sets it off. It highlights the exact features that get expressed. It doesn't work quite as well when he's grumpy, it just doesn't help anything, maybe makes him look more menacing but mostly like he's in the wrong place wrong time. But that works for him, that's the attitude he wants to convey when he's grumpy anyway. And when he's grinning, the fu manchu completely highlights it and frames it and offsets it perfectly. It accentuates it, brightens it, adds to it. Yours has the opposite effect. It's distracting. It pulls the eyes lower so people almost miss out on the best parts of the grin as if you don't want anyone to notice you're actually smiling for a change. It works best when you're confused and that doesn't really seem like the kind of look you should want to convey on a regular basis. Your style detracts from the smile even when you're being smug even though that's the point you should flaunt looking most confident.
Fine. You want to be special, then. I know what you meant.
I know.
You read further into facial hair than anyone I have ever met. Look, I shaved it off once for part of a disguise, and I didn't like it. Is it so staggering a thought to imagine that I might not care what you think of it?
I'll get over it. You're not that interesting. And it's a moot point. You're hardly my type.
... Not exactly. Forget it.
Good. Just double-checking.
I'm sure you don't care but you kept pushing the point so *shrugs*. And if you put no thought into how it would turn out then it just belies your subconcious thoughts. Really I'd come to expect better from you. Ah silly me.
Damn it. Can't I bribe you to tell me or something?
... Ah ok.
You put thought into how you dress depending on the comfort, style, and general message you wish to convey, right? Like Jyabura's is that he's barely conforming to standards only enough to flaunt that he's not following the meaning, just the letters. And that he prefers comfort and to be able to fight above all else. Yours is a more sophisticated urbane standard whatever. Point is, if you put thought into your clothes then you should do the same with a beard. It sends a message whether you know it or not. And if it's not the message you want to send, you messed up.
Hn. I can't tell if you're not telling me just to drive me crazy or because you don't want to admit that you would be interested and have nothing that would work on me.
Uh-huh. Alternately I'm just skilled enough to pick up on such subtleties and no one else has even had the guts/insanity to tell you to your face before. Whichever.
Plenty of people have had the guts, and yet haven't said anything. Besides, you act as though you're more skilled at these things than anyone else I've known.
Aha. But it does. ^_^ Because the people you'd want to intimidate (like me) won't be specifically because they'll slowly start to spot chinks in your armor like that.
Really? And when I had you pinned to the wall and you trembled, your knees were about to give out...that wasn't intimidation? Because the alternative isn't much better for you.
Interesting. So am I. I'm going to have to say it was a thrilling blend of both I'd only duplicate if you cornered me alone again. And I doubt you'll have many chances. <3
That's just as well. Dark corners make me nervous. I'd piss off Jyabura but I have a feeling he'd be the only one getting hurt and where's the fun in that~?
