THE AWESOME BIRTHDAY PARTY LOG OF BIRTHDAY AWESOMENESS~

What started out as a ~SURPRISE~ joint birthday party for Usopp and Tamaki has since exploded to include Luffy, Mori, and EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS A BIRTHDAY IN APRIL AND MAY!! Welcome to the Straw Hat Crew and Company's ships, the Thousand Sunny and the S.S. Haruhi the Second! The party spans both of them and the decorations are designed to reflect the season. Enjoy the beautiful sakura trees that grace each ship's decks, spend time beneath the lanterns and twinkling lights, and come dressed in your best yukata!

There's a banquet fit for a king - or several kings, this is Luffy's party, too, after all - and don't ask how it got there because Sanji still can't cook properly, BUT ENJOY THE FOOD ANYWAY. The dessert table is a sight to behold, there's gotta be at least fifteen cakes on that thing...

So eat, drink, be merry, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

Kaku recognized the expression on her face immediately; it was the look of a professional, and he understood what that meant. Also, she was a protege of Mr. Reborn, so...

The smile fell from Kaku's face just as easily as he willed himself to stand. The attack had passed, so it was just lingering now, and that he could handle.

"Yes, Miss, I am," he remarked with the calm words he would have once given to a director or teammate. Shadows of a bygone time in his life, to be sure, but...ah, old habits.

[ She sighed softly, calmly, her arms still crossed over her chest, and nodding in acceptance.

"Oh, it's quite simple, though it can be uncomfortable for those who have never met or do not get along," Kaku remarked. He took a step forward and began to explain.

"It's hugging. The two people wishing to exchange abilities simply embrace and the powers are instantaneously switched."

The only person she has ever allowed herself to hug would be Colonnello. And do you know how long that took her to finally do?

A good thirty years. Maybe even more. Lal's expression changed from a bit of a frown to an even deeper frown. Don't get her wrong; it's nothing regarding Kaku himself. It was just because, well. She isn't the type to go around hugging people. Actually, a sign of affection is impossible coming from her, with an exception of that blond thing. ]

"Don't feel too bad about being ruffled by it; my own husband has issues hugging me," Kaku said with a good-natured laugh.

It was only because of his ability to be unbothered by What Had To Be Done that he could simply hug strangers without feeling awkward. It was just business, after all.

So, he strode up calmly and gave Lal a quick, but sufficient, hug.

[ Husband. Interesting.

Lal might have tensed when arms came around her, quickly returning it to ensure the switching, and squirming away.
At the second he parted, the curse returned to her, just feeling that sudden rush of pain spreading, her face mirroring what she felt. Well.

Back to normal.

At that, she masked her current expression with the one she arrived with, straightening herself up. ]

After it was done, Kaku felt his entire body almost breathe with relief, but he also immediately felt the urge to holster a set of pistols around his shoulders, among knowing various models and caliburs and the like.
