PARTY PARTY!!

I now present to you...

THE AWESOME BIRTHDAY PARTY LOG OF BIRTHDAY AWESOMENESS~

What started out as a ~SURPRISE~ joint birthday party for Usopp and Tamaki has since exploded to include Luffy, Mori, and EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS A BIRTHDAY IN APRIL AND MAY!! Welcome to the Straw Hat Crew and Company's ships, the Thousand Sunny and the S.S. Haruhi the Second! The party spans both of them and the decorations are designed to reflect the season. Enjoy the beautiful sakura trees that grace each ship's decks, spend time beneath the lanterns and twinkling lights, and come dressed in your best yukata!

There's a banquet fit for a king - or several kings, this is Luffy's party, too, after all - and don't ask how it got there because Sanji still can't cook properly, BUT ENJOY THE FOOD ANYWAY. The dessert table is a sight to behold, there's gotta be at least fifteen cakes on that thing...

So eat, drink, be merry, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

As there are about 12987319820392 rooms on the S.S. Haruhi, feel free to ask for more threads, or add your own under the Random Rooms comments!

Brooke was casually splayed out on the grass of the deck drinking his tea. He watched in mild curiosity at the growing bustle of party guests and he wondered if he should play a tune for them. But he was a little tired from exerting so much strength and all of it by accident so he figured he'd drink his tea for a while waiting for requests.

Norland spotted Brook, and greeted him warmly.

"Oi, Brook-san! How are you, my friend?"

Brooke raised his head from the lawn hearing his name called and looked up to see Mr. Norland. Brooke sipped his tea and said, "Ah Norland old chap, It's a pleasure to see you here. I didn't know if you were one for parties."

Norland sat next to him, chuckling at his comment.

"Actually, you would be surprised! I love parties! You should have seen all the times Calgara and I would just laugh and drink together in Shandora!" Norland laughed, recalling those old times.

Brooke smiled thinking back to some of the wild parties the Rumba Pirates used to have.

"You and Calgara seem to be really close friends. I wonder if he too will show up for the festivities."

"I have not seen him yet, but I can assume he is with Robin somewhere." Norland shrugged. "Yes, we are very good friends. He is probably the best friend I've ever had." Norland looked ahead at nothing in particular, grinning slightly. "It was only a month, but within that time, we had learned so much from each other, shared many memories, it was quite wonderful."

He looked at Brooke again. "So tell me, you had a crew once before joining this one, correct?"

Brooke thought about the question carefully. He didn't want to sound too depressed about it so he simply said with a smile, "Indeed! I was once captain of one of the finest crew of bards you'd ever see. Most of them are dead though."

"Oh, I see." Norland nodded once. "I am sorry to hear that, Brooke-san." He smiled a bit, but his eyes were still set in a sorrowful gaze. "You miss them, don't you?" He hoped that the nature of this conversation would not lower the bard's spirits. They were here to have fun, it is almost Luffy's birthday after all.

Brooke sighed and took out a cup of tea for a long sip. "I do miss them quite a bit but at least one of them is still alive, and I have Luffy and Company now. No point on dwelling on the past forever, otherwise you can't enjoy the future at it's fullest." Brooke said with a skeletal smile. Then he paused considering something. "Come to think of it, from what I know of the lore behind your tale, you too must have some Nakama you miss quite a bit."

Norland's face lit up again, and he nodded in agreement. "Yes, that is true." More than he realized. Norland briefly recalled that night that he had the most bone-chilling conversation with Kaku and Lucci. Though he had resolved to move on and accept that it was the past, it still continued to haunt his mind. He constantly reminded himself that there will be vindication for his friends and himself.

He thought for a moment before answering.

"Yes, I do miss them. My nakama and I had sailed the seas of the Grand Line about three times. It was always a pleasure to have such a reliable crew." He sighed and chuckled a bit. "They were all skilled botanists, we conducted research on many of the islands we visited."

Brooke took another sip of his tea and stared intently at Norland studying him. "So, tell me Mr. Norland. You may have told others of the crew while I was sleeping or writing my songs, but I wonder... what is your goal? For what purpose have you decided to join with the Straw Hat Pirates? Lately that seems like a less and less important question given the amount of friends we have in our crew now but nonetheless I am curious. Is it simply because Calgara is traveling with us? Do you feel you owe us some form of debt? Or do you have some set goal in mind you hope to acomplish on your journey with us?"

Norland thought about it for a moment. He rested his arms on his crossed legs.

"Well, to be completely honest, I have not joined your crew officially like Calgara did. When I first arrived, I did not know why I had come here in the first place. However, I have become good friends with Robin-san, and thus learned what she sought after." He furrowed his brow a bit, his expression still very neutral. "I have no problem telling this to you, Brooke-san. When I was told by Kaku-san what really happened 400 years ago, when I should have died, it angered me greatly." He subconsciously rubbed at his knuckles on his right hand. Though he felt no pain, there were traces of a few scars and healing skin. "Through knowing the true nature of the World Government, I have made a choice." He looked at Brooke a bit more seriously. "I promised to fight alongside my friends, to solve the mystery of the Void Century." He lowered his voice. "I am aware of the consequences for treading such dangerous waters, but I understand why Robin-san so desires to seek the Poneglyphs." He paused for a moment. "I apologize for being so macabre all of a sudden. I am happy that I have made such wonderful friends here, I am forever thankful that I was given a second chance at life. I don't know what I would do if I had to go back. It sounds rather silly, I'm sure." He chuckled softly.

Brooke was rather impressed with the man being rather fond oh history himself. Usually history contained the best of tales to be sung. In fact by following the roots of certain songs one could tend to find out a great deal of history. "Not an easy task but I'm glad that you feel strongly about it. I suppose you of all people would bare a hatred for the lies governments might tell." Brooke said with a look of respect in his skeletal eye sockets.

"Yohohoho! I of all people know how precious it is to have a second life." Brooke laughed tapping his skull.

Norland could not help but let a huge grin spread across his broad features. He then laughed heartily.

"I can see that!" He continued laughing. "You really are something, Brooke-san, it has been a pleasure talking with you."
