Hn...almost forgot I could talk over this thing—

Oi, anyone who's listening...which of these shitty farms around here's got the best fruit selection? We finally got the house straightened out again after that fucking tidal wave and it's a good time of year for this, so I'm gonna put the kitchen to use. Should buy some pie dishes, too...

Ah...yeah, that's it.

[... you know what, let's just leave this guy be.]

Whatever floats your boat.

But let's get one thing straight. I'm not contacting you because I want to be 'friends'. I owe your previous incarnation a debt, and I didn't raise myself to be ungrateful.

Have you tried the supermarket yet?

[...probably smart :|]

A debt? [frowning slightly, not that you can see it] What kind of debt? I'm sure whatever it is, it's nothing you need to worry about repaying!

Mm, I've been there quite a few times. I heard about the shitty farms and orchards around, though, and I can't pass that kind of opportunity up!

[Eyeroll, not that you can see it. She ignores the first part of his voice reply in favor of the latter part.]

Then try the outskirts of the village. That's the only area with arable land, at any rate. Go any further out, you'll hit the city. Any further than that, and it's the desert.

What kind of produce are you looking for anyway? Be specific.

[hmm...he'll let it drop for now, but it's not something he'll easily forget about]

Outskirts of the village, got it. I'm looking for fruit and shit, stuff that's good to make pies with -- I heard there are some good orchards around here.

Then your best bet is just to go from orchard to orchard and do whatever sampling you chefs are supposed to do.

But that's the first time I've heard that we actually have good orchards. Who did you hear that from?

Couldn't give you a name, I just heard some of the people in the city going on about it. [sounds vaguely worried now] But come to think of it, they didn't necessarily say anything about good orchards, just that they were going to take their kids apple picking... Have you had a shitty experience with them or something, Rita-chan??

I haven't, mainly because I don't have any interest in things like that. But I've definitely never heard of anything like that before, and this sudden emergence of people actually talking about orchards is a little suspicious.

But whatever. Go pick your fruits. I doubt even the city folk would be stupid enough to poison their own organic stock.

And by things like that you mean...orchards? Pies? Apple picking, food in general, all of the above...?
