[The video flickers on, at first giving you nothing but a lovely view of some grass and the tip of a black shoe. The image is shaky as the picture swings from one side to the other, and a man's voice can be heard muttering.]

"The hell is this shitty thing...?"

[Eventually the screen gets flipped around with more dizzying momentum, showing a brief shot of the sky before lowering to take in a very confused face that is definitely looking worse for wear. He stares for a moment before sighing, and then drags his eyes away and instead gives his surroundings a scrutinizing look. As the camera pans back slightly, you're able to take in the torn and dirty clothes, the bruises and dried blood, and the general air of exhaustion the man has about him.]

"...Wonder where that bastard sent me." [He scrubs a hand over his face and through his hair, still muttering.] "Nami-san and Robin-chan better be alright, I swear—" [There's another sigh, slightly wistful this time, before the man looks curiously back to the screen again. Some faint beeping can be heard as he messes around with various buttons, and then the picture cuts out as he grumbles one last thing.]

"Fuck, I need a cigarette."

[automatically assumes Spira is just the name of another island from his own world and doesn't think much on it, just nods absently until she speaks again]

Oh—no, my apologies! I didn't mean to imply otherwise, I'm sure they're excellently made! There's just...a lot of them. A lot of...land. Espoir, huh? [stillll looking around, because he's just noticed something somewhat alarming] This is a damn big island... How far do you have to go to get to the sea?

[She tilts her head to the side.]

I hate to be a party pooper, but I don't think there's anything bigger than a lake around here.

[jerks his head back around so fast he almost gets whiplash] ...You've gotta be shittin' me.

[annnd then remembers who he's talking to and his eyes go wide] Ah, forgive me! I'm so sorry! It's been a...really long day, you'll have to excuse my absolutely terrible manners. [grins at her] I never did get your name, mellorine~

[She's long gotten used to that sort of language. Being around Cid will do that to ya. Despite that she still smiles a bit.]

It's okay. Everyone's first day here is like that. I'm Rikku, nice to meet ya!

I can only imagine... [gives her a grateful smile] Well, I appreciate you talking me through some of this, Rikku-chan! Do you live around here?

Anytime! I don't think I caught your name though.

I think so...I mean, from the looks of it, my cottage should be around there.

...Oh, I am off my game today. Sorry—it's Sanji! And good, hopefully that means I'll be able to bump into you sometime~

[She lets out a giggle; if it's nervous or not, no one can really tell.]

Sanji, huh? It's nice to meet ya. And yeah, you never know!

[swoons a little, the sound of her giggles like bells to his ears~] Yeah, actually, I am! I know at least two of ‘em are here. Trying to make my way over to wherever the hell they are.

[looks none too happy about the 'pretty long' part for a moment, but then shrugs it off and grins at her]
